Shallow Bay Hut
The Shallow Bay Hut is an older former NZFS hut located close to the shoreline of Shallow Bay and also the adjacent Kepler Track including the Moturau Hut which is about 30min walk. You can also access the mouth of the Upper Waiau river easily from here and there are abundant trout swimming in the shallows. This hut is more suited to smaller groups and can be easily and quickly accessed by Water Taxi drop off or ask us about walk and drop off options also.
The Hope Arm Hut can be accessed by our Water Taxi and is approximately a 30min boat ride. The trip leaves Pearl Harbour heading out across the bay before turning toward the Upper Waiau river mouth with the hut located within Shallow Bay.
